Age 72.

Daniel Thomas McPhail passed away, Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday, December 15 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave., Farmington, MI 48335. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home. A short service will follow at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 West 12 Mile Rd., Novi, MI with a presentation for his Air Force Honors.

Daniel was born, November 28, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas Charles and Alice Bernice McPhail. He graduated Farmington High School in 1963. On October 16, 1970 he married Sandra Lee Brooks. Daniel was a life-long entrepreneur (was the owner of Dan's Submarine in Farmington). His accomplishments include being a proud member of the Air National Guard, a free Masonry at Livonia United Lodge #152, and a Shriner. Daniel's greatest passion was being a pilot. He loved the freedom and challenges of flying and shared his adventures with family and friends. Daniel has touched so many lives and he will be missed dearly.

Daniel is survived by his wife Sandy, daughter Tiffany, son Thomas (Cindy), grandchildren Charlie, Cody, and McKenzie. Daniel is also survived by his mother Alice Bernice McPhail and sister Dianne (Terry) Sanders. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Charles McPhail.
