Obituary

Carole Joyce Terrano Weatherford was born August 26, 1935, in Chico California to Russell & Edna Terrano. She soon would move to Detroit where her father began his career at Fischer Body and they welcomed a son, Duane Anthony. Duane and Carole were very close in childhood and in adulthood raised their families to be close as well.

Carole met her husband Robert H. Weatherford from mutual friends, and they were married on May 12, 1955, in Detroit. Before Carole and Bob married, they purchased land in Farmington Hills with dreams of building a home and raising a family. Meanwhile, they welcomed three children, Jeffrey Gerard, Victoria Lynn & Tracey Anne and lived on the Westside of Detroit. Bob began building that dream home and they moved there in 1965. A few years later the family was completed with the birth of a 4th child, Robyn Marie. Our parents loved animals. We always had a dog and a cat or two and those animals lived spoiled lives.

Our fondest memories of our mother are many. We spend weeks in the summer months camping not only across Michigan, but even took a month trip to visit family in California. Looking back on those trips, we saw forests, lakes, rivers, mountains and oceans. It is amazing to us that she packed up everything needed for 6 people into a pop-up camper while our dad and us kids simply piled into the station wagon and went on our way. Our mother was an amazing cook. Dinner was always on the table and absolutely delicious no matter what it was. She was exceptional at cooking Italian food and one of our favorite meals was spaghetti & meatballs! Christmas was her favorite holiday. It meant she could do what she loved best, being with her family and generously giving of everything she had. She was a very organized and meticulous woman. While raising her kids, our Christmas gifts always balanced to the penny between us. The grandkids always had advent calendars, she made Chex mix & monkey bread and every single Christmas was spent with her children, and later all her grandchildren. Homemade manicotti for Christmas dinner became a tradition many years ago and will be carried on forever more. Her grandchildren then became her greatest love. Randall Marie, Hannah, Sabrina, Diego, Katie and Angelina all have special stories and the best of memories of their grandmother that they will carry with them forever.

Other memories of our mother are Friday night dinners out, road trips in the car that always ended in finding a new spot for ice cream and being an avid fan and supporter of us in all our sports activities. Carole was a tough task master, but we wanted for nothing, knew we were loved and were given every opportunity to succeed in life. Our friends thought she was cool, she was well respected, was quick with a sarcastic remark, loved peanut butter, chocolate, and red wine. We will miss her immensely but know she is with her loved ones in heaven and already yelling Bob! Incisively at our father. Until we meet again…..we love you.
