Carol was born August 6, 1925 in Detroit, the daughter of Carl Herbert and Hazel Matilda (Jacobs) Peterson. She married Robert F. Gladfelter in Detroit in 1947. Carol will forever be remembered as being the best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother in the world.

Carol was an avid golfer and loved playing bridge with her close friends. She never left her house without looking her best. Such a classy lady. She was a life member of Plum Hollow golf club and Nardin Park Methodist Church.

She was the life of the party, loved to entertain, was a fantastic cook, and maintained an immaculate home. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe, Florida and going on cruises.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (John) Bollin and Judy Piwowarczyk; grandchildren, son in law John Reed; grandchildren Christopher Piwowarczyk (Carolyn), Kimberly Prentice (Chris), Ashley and Lauren Reed; six great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter, Kathryn Reed, son in law Joe and sister, Shirley Emerson.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1-4 PM Thursday, August 9th at Greek Isles at the Farmington Hills Golf Club, 37777 11 Mile Court (west of Halsted) Farmington Hills.
