Age 96.
Beloved husband of the late Bertha (d. 2004).
Dear father of Thomas (Mary Sue) Simonsen, Sandra (Ronald) Childress and Cheryl (Ted) Vikar.
Cherished grandfather of Audrey, Kathryn, Erika, Carrie, Amanda; and great-grandfather of seven.

Bruce was born and raised in Detroit, the youngest child of Ole and Grace (nee Calkins) Simonsen.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1941 following the attack on Pearl Harbor, and on
August 7, 1942 took part in the invasion of Guadalcanal. Returning from the war, he met Bertha
at Burroughs Corporation where he worked for the next 42 years. They raised their family in
Farmington before retiring to Sun City West, Arizona. Bruce returned to his family in Michigan in
2015 and last resided in Troy.

Funeral Service Friday 3 PM at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Downtown Farmington.
Bruce's family will receive friends on Friday for Visitation from 1 PM until 3 PM service.
