It is with deep sadness that the family of Ben Powell announces his passing on the afternoon of February 2, 2021, at his home in Farmington, Michigan. Ben is survived by his wife Evette, daughter Abigail, and sons Jake and Benjamin.

Ben was a son, brother, and father who loved spending time with his family -- especially spending Saturday mornings at breakfast. Ben was born on July 6, 1958, and had three brothers and five sisters. While growing up in Michigan, Ben developed a passion for fishing and being on the water. After high school, Ben went directly to work with his father, Herbert, at his steel company. He worked his entire career as a shop foreman. After a long career dedicated to his industry, Ben retired and spent his time doing what he loved most, traveling and being with his wife and family.

In addition to being a kind, generous and loving person, Ben had a wonderful sense of humor that stayed with him to his very last days. Anyone that had the privilege of spending time with Ben will recall his warm heart, wonderful laugh, and welcoming smile.

The Powell family will receive guests 2:00 - 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Downtown Farmington.

We will be following the latest health guidelines with masks being mandatory and are permitted to have no more than 25 people in attendance at one time for visitations and funerals. Please be mindful while you are here as others may wish to pay respects also.
