Beatrice L. Norgard 89, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away Friday, March 1, 2013. A former resident of Farmington Hills, MI and San Diego, CA she had been a resident of Ft. Myers for the past 18 years. She was born January 1, 1924 in Detroit, MI a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Frances (nee Wasserbauer) Hovorka.


After High school graduation, she was employed by the Burroughs Corporation for 30 years where she met her beloved husband, and retired in 1980. She will be warmly remembered for her wonderful cooking, her love of the holidays, and her devotion to friends and family.


She is survived by her loving children, Gail N. Tudor and her husband, John of Middleton, MA; son, Lindsay A. Norgard of Ft. Myers, FL; brother, Milton J. Hovorka of The Villages, FL; three grandchildren, Allison, Corey and Casey Tudor all of Middleton, MA and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles E. Norgard on February 10, 2013; daughter, Diane Shafer in 2011; one sister, Lillian Hovorka Whitworth and one brother, Joseph E. Hovorka.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Avenue, Farmington, MI.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service.


Burial will follow at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia, MI.
