Obituary

LEMON, Audrey Catherine
Audrey passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016 with family by her side. She is survived by Robert W. Lemon, her loving husband of 69 years. She will be missed by her beloved children: Kathleen Pawlik and her husband Bob; Robin McKenzie and her husband Jack; Thom Lemon and his wife Shirley; and Dawn Lemon and her husband David Richardson. Audrey was a wonderfully loving and free-spirited grandmother of John (Becca), Katie and Joe (Alexia) Pawlik; Kyle (J. Nicole), Conor, Evan and Maura McKenzie; Myrtle Lemon; Morrin and Padraig McGunagle. She was also loved by her great grandchildren Fiona, Aine, Joshua, Lucas and Charlotte Pawlik. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Beatrice Herbert and her brothers James (Phyllis) and Gerald Herbert. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Francis Herbert and Jean Lemon, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Audrey, a Detroit native and resident of Farmington/Farmington Hills since 1957, was a classic independent woman. A natural athlete, she enthusiastically demonstrated her skills in softball, bowling, shooting skeet & trap and golf. Audrey was not one to sit idle. She loved to bake, and her pies were beyond compare. She was an avid sewer and cross stitcher, and in her retirement she developed a passion for woodcarving. Audrey's wry and often unexpected sense of humor kept her family and friends smiling and laughing. Her generosity and kindness are an inspiration to all who knew her. Audrey touched many lives, and she and her warm smile and love of life will be deeply missed.
