John Ellis

John Michael Ellis was born on September 27th, 1942, to George and Cecilia Ellis in Marquette,

Michigan. He passed away on April 8th, 2024, in Novi, Michigan after many health trials.

John married Patricia Wood on September 3rd, 1966, in Wayne, Michigan. Together they had two children, Victoria and Michael. He was preceded in death by his father George, mother Cecilia and sister Mary. John is survived by his wife Patricia, his children Victoria (Sam) Juvonen and Michael (Carline) Ellis, grandchildren Marisa (Sam) Watson, Lauren (Luke) Kuenzel, Dale (Bethany) Juvonen, Connor (Emma) Juvonen, Cody (Emmie) Juvonen, Ross Ellis, Lynnae Ellis, Eva Ellis, and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by two brothers George (Elizabeth) Ellis and David Ellis.

After high school, John served in the Air Force for one year. He then worked for several seasons on the Great Lakes aboard an ore freighter. John received a certificate in drafting from Michigan Technological University, and then worked as a mechanical designer until he retired in 2007.

John was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, and his faith was the most important part of his life. He was fortunate to pass away in living faith and often gave thanks for the grace to believe.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday (in state 10 am), April 13, 2024 at The Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, 34100 W 8 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48335. Visitation Friday 5-8 pm at the Church.
