Dorothy May (Woolcock) Paschke

Dorothy May Paschke of Livonia, Michigan passed away March 21, 2024 at the age of 95. Born March 20,1929 in Pontiac, Michigan to William and Martha Woolcock. Dorothy grew up in Berkley and Farmington, MI and was a 1947 graduate of Clarenceville High School. 

Beloved wife of the late Elmer (married Nov.15,1956), Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Joseph Mitchell, Donald Mitchell, and Martha Mitchell. She was the loving mother of Elmer Richard (Pamela) Paschke Jr., Ann Marie (Barry) Robbins, and David John Paschke. 

Dorothy’s energetic personality and notoriously quick wit were enjoyed by colleagues in her working years at S. S. Kresge Corporation, Ford Motor Company, and Compton Printing. Decades of volunteer work at Botsford Elementary School and Botsford Hospital and the 40 years of service as a Sunday School Teacher at Grace Lutheran Church expressed her genuine commitment to her community. 

Dorothy was the loving grandmother of Danielle (Billy) Carleton, Justin Robbins, Kurtis (Malina) Robbins, Brent (Jennifer) Robbins, Sheryl (Eric) Pluta, Derek (Victoria) Robbins, and Scott Paschke. Great-grandmother of Logan, Caroline, Adalyn, Isabel, Holden, Connor, Mia, Clara, Hudson, Liam, Adam, Jackson, and Marie. Dear sister-in-law of Karen Mitchell, Irene Mitchell, and LeRoy Paschke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

In retirement, Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren and maintained an active role in their lives, while spoiling her beloved dogs, Sir Harry, Lady, and Shadow, and tending to her gardens, pond, and bird feeders that she enjoyed sharing with visitors. Her unique humor and outgoing personality made a mark on everyone she encountered - strangers included. 

Dorothy will be missed deeply by her family, friends, and all the communities she connected with. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 12 pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Avenue, Farmington, Michigan 48335. Entombment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan.
